Even those who have been forced to tighten their belts due to the recession will be able to reap the benefits of this year's Israel Festival, according to organizers, who say that they have taken the difficult economic times into consideration and added close to 40 free events. Running from Sunday until June 10, the festival's free events include alternative theater performances, classical music and jazz concerts, as well as several dance and children's shows. In recent years, the festival's planners together with the city of Jerusalem have taken into account that many of the capital's residents cannot afford ticket prices. The free events aim to include some of the city's lowest earners in the festivities. For further information on free events, visit www.israel-festival.org.il or stop by the Jerusalem Theater for a copy of the free brochure printed in English and Hebrew.
