Citizens throughout Israel have reported massive amounts of moths invading their homes, according to local news agency mynetrehovot.In recent nights, residents have reported moths swarming on the windows of their houses and "threatening to come in.""I feel like I'm locked in my house because I can't open the window," said a local resident. "They just keep multiplying."Batya ben-Ari, a resident of Rehovot, told mynetrehovot that the plague began last week."We find ourselves fighting with huge moths and there's no way to stop them," another local resident said.Similar reports have surfaced throughout the region, including in Rishon Lezion, where as many as 20 moths have been reported entering apartments in one night."Even when the windows are closed, they stick to the glass like in a horror movie," a resident from the area said. "Every day, I spray against pests and clean moths from the floor. It's gotten to the point that the kids already are afraid to go to bed in their own rooms. It's true they can't really hurt anything but it's really becoming a major nuisance."Mynetrehovot suggests turning off your lights and opening your windows to get the moths to leave.Recently, a massive outbreak of black beetles was reported around the country and in Syria.The Ministry of Environmental Protection stated that, "From our investigation, insects, including the moths, have shown up throughout the country due to changes in the weather. These moths are not dangerous to humans or clothing."Ilanit Chernick contributed to this report.
