1. THE A-TEAM Justice League is the latest superhero movie from DC Comics. It follows Batman and Wonder Woman, who recruit Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg to battle Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons monsters from Apokolips. WOMAN OF VALOR The exhibition “Tehilla” at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art features the works of Yifat Bezalel, winner of the museum’s 2016 Rappaport Prize for a Young Israeli Artist. At the core of the exhibition is Tehilla, the righteous heroine of S.Y. Agnon’s novella of the same name. BIRDS OF A FEATHERThe Hula Valley Bird Festival returns at one of the most active times of bird migration. Events, tours, seminars and much more will take place amid the stunning locations of the Hula Valley, the Hula Nature Reserve and surroundings. TO CATCH A THIEF Popular Brooklyn indie rock band Big Thief make their Israel debut at Tel Aviv’s Barby Club this week. With Adrianne Lenker on guitar and vocals, Buck Meek on guitar, Israeli bassist Max Oleartchik (son of Israeli musician Alon Oleartchik) and drummer James Krivchenia, the group released their first album Masterpiece in 2016 to critical acclaim. TRUE BLUES This year’s Tel Aviv Blues Festival will have an especially local flavor to it, with homegrown talent performing at 20 venues in the city on November 22 to 25. Berlin-based, Arkansas-bred E.B. CURTAINS UP The Israeli theater scene will be the center of attention this month as the International Exposure in Theatre and The Hanoch Levin Institute of Israeli Drama come together for a joint event in Tel Aviv. Some 50 theater directors, festival directors, journalists and translators from 20 countries will come to Israel to experience Israeli theater firsthand. The diverse program includes a number of performances, an encounter with author and Man Booker International Prize winner David Grossman, and a presentation on sexual trauma as a creative force.Wednesday through November 26. PHOTO OPS Since its launch five years ago, the International Photography Festival in midtown Tel Aviv has become an art institution that draws tens of thousands of visitors each year. REMEMBERING RONIT The Design Museum Holon presents a new exhibition highlighting the magnificent collection of clothing left by the late actress and film director Ronit Elkabetz (1964-2016). The exhibition journeys through her milestones in an exemplary dialogue extending throughout the museum’s galleries, presenting 30 scenes comprised of 90 ensembles – cinema costumes, haute couture, accessories and jewelry – all simulating a dreamlike film. Included is Elkabetz’s original clothing and red carpet looks by international and Israeli designers such as Alber Elbaz, Christian Lacroix and Gideon Oberson.Opens November 28.
