Russia's President Vladimir Putin sent a special holiday greeting card to the Jews of Russia for Rosh Hashanah on Sunday.

"I wish you good health, happiness, wealth and joy for the holiday" Putin wrote. "I must note with satisfaction that the religious organizations of Judaism take an active part in the life of the state, excel in charitable activities, carry out high-demand projects in the field of education and give the younger generation the ancient historical and spiritual tradition of their forefathers."

Chabad and the Jewish Federation are completing preparations for the holidays, delivering religious objects throughout Russia to help the Jews there celebrate the festivals.
