The official launch took place in a series of events in New York, as the city paid tribute to the State of Israel, with its annual parade celebrating the country on Fifth Avenue.
"There are so many lies and so much hatred spread on Israel," Erdan said at the Celebrate Israel Festival, held every year by the Israeli American Council on the parade's sidelines, "It's time to fight back."
"The new initiative we are launching today, 4IL, is a vital tool to help us counter the lies, stop the hate and spread the truth," he explained.
The 4IL campaign’s main platform is a website, providing various resources for Israel defenders to use online. They include cartoons mocking the BDS movement, explanatory videos, and links to news stories on pro-Israel activism.
In parallel to the campaign’s debut, the IAC, the Maccabee Task Force and The Interdisciplinary Herzliya also launched ACT.IL, an app complementing the Ministry’s initiative by allowing Israel advocates worldwide to retaliate against anti-Israel content online as a community, with more impact than as individuals.
