Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday announced that the country opposes Poland's new law criminalizing statements suggesting that the country bears responsibility for the crimes against humanity committed by Nazi Germany on its soil.
No law, the ministry's statement read, can change the historical truth. Israel asked the Polish government to amend the bill before advancing the legislation.
