Is a Bahraini Jew behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement?

As the world says “Mazel tov!” to the newly engaged couple, a surprising source has emerged as the possible matchmaker who introduced the royal pair.Misha Nonoo is suspected to be the person responsible for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s fairytale love story.Prince Harry to wed Meghan Markle at WindsorBorn in Bahrain, raised in London, educated in Paris and now based in New York, the globetrotting fashion designer, who has her own eponymous label, comes from an international background.Her mother is British and her father is a Bahraini Jew and member of the prominent Nonoo family. The family emigrated from Iraq to the capital, Manama, in the early twentieth century and can count members of parliament, the founder of the Bahrain Human Rights Society and a former ambassador to the United States among its ranks.In their first joint interview after announcing their engagement, the couple stated they were set up by a mutual friend. Nonoo is the most likely suspect, as her estranged husband Alexander Gilkes attended school with Princes William and Harry and dated Pippa Middleton. According to The Sun, Nonoo and Markle are known to be good friends, and she even wore a shirt designed by Nonoo in her first public outing with Prince Harry. "I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly... All the stars were aligned - everything was just perfect. It was this beautiful woman just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life - I fell into her life," said Prince Harry of his bride-to-be.Nonoo, though, hasn’t been as lucky in love — her husband, British fashion designer and socialite Alexander Gilkes, who, according to W Magazine, converted to Judaism to marry her, filed for divorce in October 2016.
