Singer-songwriter Damien Jurado will appear at the Barby in Tel Aviv this September.The Seattle-based indie performer has appeared in Israel before, for a show in June 2016 at the same venue. Before that concert, he posted on Instagram that he “finally made it to Israel.”Despite detours into everything from pop to psychedelia to roots rock – which has earned him comparisons to a latter-day Neil Young or Bob Dylan for constantly challenging his audience – Jurado credits his Seattle grunge upbringing for informing his direction.“That’s part of me. If you grew up in Seattle during that time, it’s a fabric of your musical DNA, whether you want it to be or not.And I was lucky to be part of it; it’s not something that I shy away from,” Jurado told the Post before his 2016 show.Jurado announced last month that he will soon be releasing his 13th studio album, The Horizon Just Laughed. The album’s first single, “Over Rainbows and Rainier,” was called “hushed and understated” by Spin magazine.Tickets are on sale for NIS 154 each and are available for purchase at barby.co.il.In other music news, Enrique Iglesias’s concert at Hayarkon Park has been moved from Saturday, May 26, to the following day – to accommodate both the final of the 2018 Champions League in Kiev and Shabbat ending late.
