Zionist Union MK Merav Michaeli announced on Twitter Sunday that she had lodged a police complaint against Beitar Jerusalem soccer player Gaetan Varenne, who was video-taped, along with three other players, conducting alleged sexual abuse.
"I just filed an official police complaint on the horrible gang-rape seen in the video of Anthony Varenne and demanded that the attorney general ensure that the police investigates him," Michaeli wrote.

Varenne appeared in a disturbing sex video that was spreading across social media last week. In the video, the player is seen sexually exploiting a naked and helpless (possibly unconscious) woman in a video taken several years ago. The video shows Varenne with three of his then teammates at Hapoel Jerusalem, with two of them still active in Israel's amateur divisions, slapping and verbally abusing the woman.
Varenne last week confirmed that it was him in the video and reportedly told his teammates that he is ashamed of his behavior.
Police had announced that it is looking into the matter, angering women's rights groups and feminists who were outraged that an official investigation was not immediately launched.
The Israel Football Association denounced Varenne’s conduct but said that it is legally unable to discipline the player.
