A cinema in Upper Nazareth will be named for famed Israeli actress Gal Gadot Wednesday, Hebrew-language newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported Tuesday.
The movie theater— to be named "Gal Cinema"— will open with a showing of Israeli director Eran Riklis's new movie Shelter. The cinema was created after Mayor Ronen Plot proposed the idea at a local board of directors meeting.
Gadot, the star of the critically-acclaimed and box office smash hit Wonder Woman, wowed the world in her work as the titular character, and has become a source of pride for Israelis around the world, including back home where the towers of Azrieli Mall lit up in support before the movie premiered.
Upper Nazareth was founded in 1957 and incorporated as a city in 1974 and sits just east of the biblical site of the city of Nazareth.
