Following years of publishing, the famed edition, which highlighted cheese, wine and other French things, was discontinued in February. It has now gone the way of many other print newspapers and ended up in newspaper heaven.Contacted through intermediaries, the Edition Francaise says that it is enjoying the afterlife alongside The Independent, La Presse and many other newspapers. We caught up to the Edition Francaise at a nice cloud-side bar. Dressed in a cravat and sipping a Perrier, the former print edition waxed poetic about its days on the streets of Israel.“Well of course I will miss being picked up and then discarded on the beaches of Netanya. It was a good run while it lasted.”Next to the French edition, The Wall Street Journal Asia and Wall Street Journal Europe were busy downing martinis and complaining that they never got enough credit for their “breaking news.” The Independent’s print edition, when asked for comment, was too drunk to answer.
