Singer Pat Boone is set to headline a major tribute show for Israel and its achievements with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra on May 13.
The evening will open with a special 70th anniversary video tribute to Israel and greetings from Barbra Streisand and will feature top names in music, led by Boone and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, as well as Shiri Maimon, the Israeli star of Eurovision 2005; David Broza; and renowned pianist Dino Kartsonaki. More guest appearances are in the works.
With six decades of chart-topping hits under his belt, Boone’s hits cover the spectrum of genres from pop to country to rock n’ roll and gospel.
As for his upcoming performance, Boone said, “I’ve been to the Holy Land over a dozen times and the timing couldn’t be better in a world where peace, brotherly love, respect and reaching out couldn’t be more important. We are all more excited than words can describe.”
“It’s a look back both visually and audibly over my many years in the business and more importantly, the historic legacy of the only land that holds so much importance for the majority of us on earth,” Boone added.
The event is being organized by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews; Gordon Robertson, president of The Christian Broadcast Network; and Pat Boone Enterprises, and will donate a percentage of revenues to Krembo Wings, a youth movement for children with disabilities.
Ticket prices start at NIS 199 and can be purchased at tickets.bimot.co.il/
