Jerusalem folk duo Tamar and Netanel promote new album

Israeli husband-and-wife musical couple Tamar and Netanel Amar will be bringing their love of American folk music to Jerusalem’s Confederation House tonight (8:30 p.m.) as they perform songs from their new album.Both Tamar and Netanel grew up in Jerusalem to Jewish observant families.They met in 2013 during a performance by Tamar and both felt an immediate connection which naturally led to forming a duo and then marriage.Their joint musical journey resulted in their first album, Peace of Mind, which was released in 2015, combining American folk with music from the 1960s (Simon and Garfunkel, James Taylor, John Denver) complemented by more contemporary sounds influenced artists such as Alison Krauss, plus melodies with Jewish connections.They have also performed at the Arts Festival in Jerusalem as well as the annual Jacob’s Ladder Festival.For tickets visit www.confederationhouse.org
