Bat Ella performs songs from her new album ‘Rehaim’

‘For me these songs are a source of inspiration, optimism and hope,” says Bat Ella, an Israeli soul singer who will debut her new album Rehaim next Friday in Tel Aviv. With lyrics taken from modern Hebrew poetry and original music composed by Ido Zelnik, Merav Siman-Tov, Ariel Keshet and Tahel Shoham, the musician believes that her songs will touch many listeners.
“I see in this album as a way of exposing these wonderful lyrics to the public, in the hope that they will touch them as they touch me,” she adds.
The singer will also perform songs from her previous albums T’filati and L’chi Lach.
Ella is a sabra who is very proud of her Jewish heritage and believes that Judaism is a treasure that belongs equally to all Jews. In her concerts, Ella sings songs of prayer and liturgy from the Jewish sources and from modern Hebrew poetry in melodies and arrangements that express the rich musical tapestry of the Israeli melting pot.
A graduate of the IDF’s Southern Command performing arts troupe, Ella grew up in Dimona to parents of Aleppo and Persian origins. She has performed on some of Israel’s most important stages, including the Zappa clubs and Caesarea and in Jewish communities abroad.
Critics have described her shows as energetic and inspiring, full of elation and joy, featuring songs reach out to all sectors of society – secular, traditional and religious – and representing pluralistic, egalitarian and Israeli Judaism.
All proceeds from the concert will go towards promoting organ donations in Israel and saving lives.
