German Palestinian who 'already stabbed many Jews' convicted

Palestinian family violently attacked Jewish doctor and wife.

A court in the city of Siegburg in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia convicted Geman Palestinians on Monday for a violent attack on a German Jewish doctor and his wife.
The 46-year-old convicted man told the doctor that he is Palestinian and "already stabbed many Jews," according to an article in the General-Anzeiger paper which also described the doctor as Jewish.
During the attack, the Palestinian, whose name was not disclosed, wielded a 40 centimeter knife and yelled "Allahu Akbar " three times. The Express paper reported that the Palestinian said "Where is this whore's son? I'll kill him."
The doctor's wife attempted to stop the Palestinian, who screamed "Get away, you whore," and punched her in the face. The Green Party politician Volker Beck wrote on Twitter on Friday: "How can a political or religious background of the crime with the statements of the perpetrators be ruled out? The antisemitic motivation appears quite clear."

According to a court spokesman,the physician" feared that the Palestinian planned to decapitate him." The attack took place in the 54-year-old physician's office in the town of Troisdorf , with a population of nearly 74,500, in 2016.
The Palestinians, the victim and the prosecutor announced they plan to appeal the conviction. Reasons for the appeal were not cited in the article. The court and prosecutor did not post press statements on their websites.
The two sons of the Palestinian attacker participated in the attack and were also convicted. The 19-year-old and 15-year-old sons were convicted along with their father for "criminal assault, harassment, coercion, and slander." The father was ordered to pay a 5,000 euro fine. The process against the 19-year-old son will be closed if he pays a 1,000 euro fine. The 15-year-old son was ordered to perform 70 hours of community service.
The physician treated the 19-year-old in his office for a broken calf bone in 2016.
The General-Anzeiger reported that friends of the patient called the father and claimed his son was insulted. According to the Express article, the 15-year-old son held the doctor while he was ordered to kiss the other son's hands and feet.
The doctor complied with the Palestinian's demands
The paper said that doctor and his wife remain "traumatized" because of the attack.
While the General Anzeiger reported the doctor is Jewish, two German media outlets reported in 2016 that the physician, Dr. Attila Tan, is an Alevi Kurd originally from Turkey.
