Israel@70 - The Founders of the IAF

 

With Israel's 70th Yom Hatzmahut this year it is appropriate to explore some of the people and intuition who made it possible. On the New Blue Review today we talk to Smoky Simon who had integral role in the creation of the Israel Air Force. Smoky still lives in Israel and recounts the amazing story of his youth in South Africa and interest in aircraft to the smuggling operation he had to conduct to build the states first fighter planes.
